The teaparty reminds its hostages what will happen if their demands are not met:
A coalition of several hundred Tea Party chapters declared Tuesday that a vote for Boehner’s debt plan constitutes a violation of its pledge, which 51 Republican lawmakers have signed. The group, known as the Cut, Cap and Balance Coalition, notified its members of its position in a Tuesday memo entitled, “Clarification of the CCB Coalition Stance on the Speaker’s Proposal.”
“The greatest concern to the Cut, Cap and Balance Coalition is the integrity of the Cut, Cap and Balance Pledge that was signed by 39 House Members and 12 Senators, and whether voting for the proposed deal constitutes a Pledge violation,” reads the memo.”
“We hold that is does violate the pledge, on several grounds.”
How do you like that, USA? The teaparty got 51 of the country’s lawmakers to sign a pledge TO THE TEAPARTY. What percentage do you suppose the teaparty makes up in each House representative’s or each Senator’s state? I’ll bet it’s not a majority — or even 50%. This group typically polls out at 16% to 18% of the population — and they’re calling the shots on our nation’s debt crisis and the world economy? All thanks to 51 lawmakers who signed some lame pledge. There were probably pinky-swears involved too.
These 51 lawmakers are in Washington DC to represent only a small faction of nutcases who like to play dress up and can’t spell. Everyone else in their districts or states can just fuck off, literally. Get your own pledge.
Let them know you exist and can vote:

- Contact your Senators: Senators of the 112th Congress
Here’s the real teaparty pledge:

Pingback: How many more days until the “Republican strategy” is viewed as unpatriotic? | Under the Mountain Bunker
Rebellious, mostly young, inexperienced newcomers, rebel against the weathered veteran authority of their own House Speaker, John Boehner, believing they are being patriotic by their ‘Cut, Cap and Balance Coalition’ pledge. The Tea Party began by Judson Phillips, who shows sociopath tendencies eerily similarly to Hitler, when he rants he would rather destroy America than go against the pledge. Judson mesmerizes his audience with his speeches on the internet, just as Hitler did when he led thousands to believe extermination of an inferior race, the Jews, was a necessity of survival. Unpatriotic? The idea is maniacal, reminding one of the cult leaders who hypnotize believers that the world is ending.
