I made it — I’m back home with a lovely departing gift from the hospital: my own cone of shame.
Thanks for your supportive and kind remarks which I very much appreciated…I’d completely forgotten how uncomfortable I was after surgery the first time. My two complaints this morning: because of the breathing tube, my throat really hurts — I can barely swallow. And because of the actual physical work the surgeon does, my neck and shoulder muscles are killing me.
I think sleep will be the only escape I have for the next few days.
