  1. -This is yet another Sad Day in America where an apparently Mentally Troubled Person with Guns has brought sorrow and death to our world. We Pray for the Victims and Their Families.
These dramas are not in book, Television or Movie screens – these are real life and life threatening episodes that continue to bring us to better understand the problems of exploiting and celebrating violence in our society. I am so sorry for these people, my heart is very troubled. – Harvey Elwood, Jr. – Orangeburg, South Carolina

  2. I have children this mans age. If any of my children would do a thing like this I would be ashamed as a mother that I didn’t do a better job raising my child and teaching them how to love their fellow human bother and sister’s. I would want justice to brought against my own children if they would ever do any thing of this magnitude. Hopefully, this young man will find help where he will go after commiting such a horrific crime. As Americans, we all have to learn from this and change the way some things are done, such as gun control. However, we must not let this one senseless act stop us from living and we need to help those who are most affected by this, the residents of Aurora.

  3. Tammy Boucher – if it weren’t for the existing gun control laws in Colorado, Holmes wouldn’t have gotten more than a couple rounds off in a full theater before he took a bullet to the head himself. Instead, he just calmly waited in his car for police to arrive.

    • what a funny way to think…you are as retarded as this kid…wild west era is over…if there was more control over guns in this country…things like this and like many other that have happened would not occur, or at least not so ofter

  4. Damon-There has to be more gun control. We have the right to have guns as legal Americans and to protect ourselves or to hunt. However, not to hunt other human beings. Sad but true. This is a touchy subject. They say he bought the guns legally but he bought them all with in a short time within each purchase. He was also wearing protective gear and bought 1000 rounds. If that isn’t a sign that his background should be looked into, then what is? If a person is dropping out of college that is a sign that one could be depressed. I am going to college, myself. There are other things that need to be changed, as well. Such as costumes being worn to theaters. If there was a fire, wearing a costume could make it difficult for a little child to get out of a theater. I don’t want to see anyone lose their life over just going to the movie. Let’s learn from this and move forward.

      • Thank you Professor Elwood. I believe we need to all learn from this tragic event. We as a nation need to be kinder towards everyone. We are so quick to judge. Perhaps if James Holmes would of had someone he could have talked to beforehand this wouldn’t have happened. He is still a human being. However, we need to learn from what he did before someone else does this again. History keeps repeating itself. We hear people say they have the right to have guns but those guns end up in the hands of people who can’t control what they should legally do with them. They are the ones who go on killing sprees. Someone has to budge if we wan’t save innocent human beings lives
