Apparently Mitt Romney is now on his own “Apology Tour”

Not really, but Charles Johnson catches the boondoggle of Mitt Romney’s entire effort of the past 24 hours with trying to cram the President into his fictional “Apology Tour” campaign narrative and the Libyan situation:

CNN reports that the Romney Camp is handing out talking points to those who want to defend him on his Libya response:

Questions & Answers:

Don’t you think it was appropriate for the embassy to condemn the controversial movie in question? Are you standing up for movies like this?

Governor Romney rejects the reported message of the movie. There is no room for religious hatred or intolerance.

– But we will not apologize for our constitutional right to freedom of speech…

Johnson points out what should be embarrassingly obvious to anyone who was paying attention: “The part in bold above is essentially identical to the statement from the US embassy in Cairo that Romney infamously criticized.”

  1. The embassy statement was COMPLETELY different, because it was issued in Times New Roman, while Romney’s statement was in Arial. Also, there was a nice swoosh on Romney’s version. That’s because he loves America.
