Small pizza owners cheer John Schnatter’s threat to raise the price of Papa Johns pizza

“This may level the playing field for us, If they have to pay for benefits, and that pushes their prices up closer to ours, it will justify what we’ve been paying for and what we’ve been fighting to do the past few years….I’d tell Papa John’s’ CEO, ‘Welcome to the club,’ We’ve battled the whole way giving health insurance to employees ever since we could afford to do it 9 years ago, as a two-year-old business.”

Papa John’s Obamacare Price Hike Cheered By Ian’s Pizza In Wisconsin

faithprovesnothing: “Like many of the 60 percent of small businesses that pay employees health benefits, Ian’s Pizza has struggled to compete with national chains that enter local markets and undercut existing prices. But Obamacare may give local businesses some breathing room as national chains lose the advantage they once wielded through not providing health insurance.”

stfuconservatives: “More people get insurance AND small businesses get a better shot at succeeding? Oh my god, Obamacare gets more awesome every day.”

divineirony: This fucking guy.

BOYCOTT Papa Johns.

  1. “This fucking guy” is spot on. Spot. On.

Have never eaten a Papa John’s pizza and, surely, won’t now. We have a local pizza joint we usually order pizza from that’s delish! Or, we get it from Papa Murphy’s or make it ourselves. And our local pizza joint DOES pay health benefits for employees working more than 24 hours per week.
