I’m moving in 3 days! 

The rest of the week is a Holy Mess of activity. This afternoon, I have to go to the new Town Hall to sign up for water / sewer and then pick up my brother from DIA and drive him to Laramie, Wyoming. My brother lives in Montana and I haven’t seen him since March, during a very unhappy time (Mom), so I’m looking forward to the drive.

Tomorrow morning we have a final walk-thru of the new house, followed by closing on the new house at the title company’s office.

I’m beginning to believe this might really happen!

Friday morning I have to be at the new house (I will have keys! It will be mine!) to wait for a new refrigerator and delivery of the new internet company’s modem. Let’s hope it works and works well. Internet is almost more important to us than almost any other utility. I also have to cover the windows with paper (I guess?) until that situation is resolved.

Then Saturday: the Big Move. And as far as I’m concerned, the Last Move. Sunday is when DirectTV is scheduled to appear and reconnect the background noise in our home. I can’t believe they work on Sundays but the guy insisted that’s typical, so I agreed to a Sunday visit.

Here’s something I’m worried about: will the movers will be able to move our IKEA Expedit bookcase? They’ll have to move it down a flight of stairs and back up a flight of stairs. That’s going to be one of the biggest problems, I think.

Next week will be pretty relaxed: unpacking, arranging, and getting the old place ready for our very first tenants. I took time off, so I’m actually looking forward to next week. But in the meantime, I still need to pack bedrooms, closets, food, and bathrooms…

Oh, look. It’s Tuesday.

It’s Monday but summer’s coming and birds are singing. Let’s do this.
