In her response to the tragic shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and 19 others in Arizona, Sarah Palin criticized journalists for manufacturing a “blood libel” against her. On a radio program this morning, Assistant Democratic Leader James Clyburn (D-SC) said that the former Alaska Governor “just can’t seem to get it.”

First of all, Palin releases a statement TODAY? — when Obama is traveling to Arizona for a memorial service for the Tucson tragedy — to complain how she’s being treated. Then, of all the phrases in the world she could have used, she chooses “blood libel” to describe HER situation, while a Jewish congresswoman is in critical condition from an assassination attempt.
