VERY OKAY: September 24, 2008: David Letterman Lays into John McCain for Bailing on Late Night Appearance – Letterman went into a long routine against McCain, mocking McCain’s earlier claim that he needed to “rush to the airport.” Letterman then went on against McCain for not only canceling him, but for suspending his campaign in the first place. Letterman asked if McCain was “suspending it because there’s an economic crisis, or because the poll numbers are sliding?”… McCain passed up what would have been his 13th appearance on Late Night, the show where he first announced his campaign for President.
